GoJuip Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GoJuip Rider, Driver, and Operations applications and any related websites or services operated by GoJuip ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the apps you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of your country of residence. Drivers must additionally hold a valid driving licence, have their vehicle registered for commercial use where required, and pass our verification checks before accepting any trip.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• You must not share your account, transfer it, or let another person drive on your driver account.
• We may suspend or close accounts for fraud, abuse, repeated low ratings, regulatory non-compliance, or any breach of these Terms.

3. The service

GoJuip is a technology platform that connects independent drivers with riders. We do not provide transportation services ourselves. Each trip is a contract between the rider and the driver; GoJuip facilitates booking, communication, pricing, payment, and dispute handling.

4. Fares and payments

• The fare displayed before booking is the fare you will be charged, except where additional waiting time, route changes, tolls, or driver-rider negotiations are explicitly agreed during the trip.
• We process payments through licensed third parties (Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe). Card data is held by those providers; we never see your card number.
• Drivers may pay GoJuip a service fee per completed trip. The current rate is shown on the driver's earnings screen.
• Refunds are issued at our discretion in line with the dispute process described in section 7.

5. Cancellations

Riders may cancel a trip free of charge within a short grace window after booking, after which a cancellation fee may apply to compensate the assigned driver. Drivers may decline trips before acceptance; repeatedly cancelling after acceptance affects driver scorecard and may lead to deactivation.

6. Code of conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose, including transporting prohibited goods.
• Discriminate against any rider or driver based on race, religion, gender, disability, or any protected characteristic.
• Behave in a way that threatens the safety, dignity, or property of any other user.
• Attempt to defraud the platform, including via fake trips, manipulated GPS, or stolen payment methods.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app's operation.

Violations may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

7. Disputes and complaints

If you have a complaint about a trip, fare, or driver/rider behaviour, raise it through Help in the app within 7 days of the trip. Our support team will investigate using trip telemetry, payment records, and chat history. Decisions are communicated through the app and via email where applicable.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoJuip is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the apps or any trip. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the fare paid for the trip giving rise to the claim and (b) NGN 50,000 (or local equivalent). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold GoJuip harmless from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your conduct during a trip.

10. Intellectual property

All software, branding, copy, and design elements of GoJuip are owned by GoJuip or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the apps.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the apps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved through our internal complaints process are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, except where local consumer-protection law mandates otherwise.
